Since our childhood we deliberate on the question whether chewing gum stays in our stomach and whether it lingers in the stomach.
It’s true that chewing gum base is indigestible, but it goes through the digestive system like any other waste. It needs a couple of days and will digest in the gastrointestinal system like all other indigestible foods do. In rare cases if you swallow a large mass of gum or many small pieces in a very short time, this can cause health problems.
