| Professor H. L. Hollingworth |
| In 1939 Professor H. L. Hollingworth of Columbia University in New York discovered that chewing not only relaxes people while they are working but keeps them alert. Since then, the Armed Forces supplied chewing gum to the fighting men in World War II. That caused a shortage of gums on the civilian market. During this national emergency the Wrigley Company put an ad called “Don´t forget your pack!” (beim letzten Satz kann ich den Slogan nicht übersetzen) |
